Frequently asked questions from air conditioning and heat pump installers about DECOCLIM
A pioneer in France, DECOCLIM has the particularity of having been designed in consultation with professional climate engineering installers.
Since 2013, DECOCLIM has had hundreds of thousands of installations in France and abroad. Our desire is to work closely with installers to best meet their needs
To save you time, here are the questions we are often asked by installers who don't yet know us and who are thinking about installing an air conditioning cover or a Decoclim heat pump cover.
Of course, we are also available by telephone or email for any other questions or need for clarification. Do not hesitate to contact us !
Does DECOCLIM really reduce the noise from external air conditioning and heat pump units?
Yes. The louvers of our DECOCLIM are designed to respect the air flow and also reduce the range of noise caused by the fan.
It is necessary to count between 10 and 30% reduction in noise pollution on average.
The reduction in noise range depends on several factors such as the required efficiency, the environment and the materials chosen.
Note that the noise is redirected towards the ground and that it bounces off a tile-type surface unlike gravel, grass, earth, etc.
Finally, note that you will obtain the best sound result with a wooden air conditioning cover compared to a metal air conditioning cover.
Is the air flow necessary for the operation of the air conditioner or the heat pump respected with a DECOCLIM?
Yes perfectly. DECOCLIM is also the only brand to publish a study which attests to its respect for air flow when installed on an air/air or air/water heat pump.
Our DECOCLIM are designed only with louvered slats to respect the air flow and have a minimum 7cm recess at the rear for air suction.
It is even possible to increase the space at the rear by an additional 15cm with the strips which are systematically integrated throughout the entire aluminum range.
It is important to choose the DECOCLIM as adjusted as possible so as not to leave too much space between the unit and the DECOCLIM and thus avoid air recycling.
Is the DECOCLIM cover delivered flat or already assembled?
Our DECOCLIM are delivered as a flat kit and can be assembled in 5 minutes maximum.
On the 100% aluminum range, the faces simply clip together without tools for assembly in less than a minute.
The DECOCLIM wood range is delivered with the screws and the key necessary for assembly, the inserts are already present for assembly in less than 5 minutes.
How to access the engine maintenance group?
Our DECOCLIM are attached to the wall using a buttonhole system. You must let the screw head come out of the wall and hang the DECOCLIM like a painting. For maintenance, simply lift the DECOCLIM to remove it from the wall.
Is it possible to hang the DECOCLIM cover on the wall?
Yes of course, DECOCLIM is attached using a buttonhole system. You must let the screw head come out of the wall and hang the DECOCLIM like a painting directly on the wall.
For high installations, we offer bottom panels to hide the underside of the groups.
How to fix DECOCLIM to the ground?
To fix your DECOCLIM to the ground, simply use the holes initially provided for the underside (on the side faces).
To fix it directly on a concrete slab or other, you need to take a little wider to have room to fix it.
Note that fixing is not obligatory, if the group is sheltered from the wind and from young children who risk pulling on it, you can simply place DECOCLIM on the ground without needing to fix it.
My group is placed very high, what should I do?
For installations located at height, undersides are available in our range of accessories to hide the underside of the device.
From a certain height, it is therefore wise to choose your DECOCLIM with a soffit to hide the group support. The installation becomes much more aesthetic when the group is completely hidden.
Little tip : if the group is positioned very high (from 2-3 meters high), you can fix the DECOCLIM upside down so as not to see under the shutter slats and not to appear in head when you pass in front of the group because the air will be redirected upwards.
How to stack two DECOCLIM?
All our DECOCLIMs are modular, so you can stack DECOCLIMs of the same size to increase the total height.
There is no limit for this, you can stack 2-3-4-5 DECOCLIM of the same size and obtain a column of DECOCLIM caches, to hide a building air conditioning unit for example.
For this, you will find on our aluminum DECOCLIM 2 screws on the front side which allow you to fix the DECOCLIM together.
Simply do not put the top side for the bottom DECOCLIM and place and fix the complete DECOCLIM on top.
For wooden DECOCLIM, we recommend fixing them separately to the wall because they are heavier than aluminum. This will simplify handling to carry out maintenance on the groups.
How to hide the bottom of a group?
We offer the accessory (underside) to hide the underside of groups installed high up.
Please note that the underside is sent in the DECOCLIM box automatically.
How to hide the back of a group?
To hide the back of your installation, we offer back faces to hide the 4 sides of your group.
This accessory is generally used for groups that are far from a wall such as a roof terrace or a heat pump located in the middle of the garden when the back of the group is visible, or to further channel the noise caused by the motor.
How to mount the DECOCLIM?
Our DECOCLIM are very easy to assemble, a real breeze.
The aluminum range is assembled without any screws, simply clip the front side to the sides then clip the top side last. Allow only around 1 to 2 minutes to assemble an aluminum DECOCLIM.
The wooden models are also very simple to assemble, they come with the screw kit and the tool you need to install it.
You will find numerous tutorials on our Youtube channel which indicate how to assemble and install a DECOCLIM
